FestivalPhoto was founded in 2005 by Rasmus Lindgren, with the support of his friend Thomas Glimfelt. The idea first sparked in 1999, when Rasmus attended his first festival and began collecting photos from festivals and live concerts. With Thomas’ skills in web design and development, FestivalPhoto was launched, providing a home for a growing collection of festival and concert photography.

Today, FestivalPhoto hosts over 600,000 high-quality images from festivals and concerts around the world, captured by hundreds of professional photographers. In addition to photos, the site features daily updates with reviews, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content, making it one of the most comprehensive live music and festival archives online.

FestivalPhoto is an uncensored, journalistic documentation of live music, capturing the reality of festivals and concerts exactly as it happens.

In 2007, FestivalPhoto underwent a major redesign with the help of web designer Björn Carlsson, launching FestivalPhoto 2.0 in July 2007.
